Job summary

Ashford School invites a dedicated grounds assistant to keep lawns, beds, shrubs and outdoor spaces safe, attractive and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will perform general gardening and grounds maintenance, lawn care (mowing, edging, watering), planting and seasonal bed work, and maintain pathways while supporting the Grounds Team on projects.

The role offers flexible part-time hours and the chance to contribute to the wider school community in a friendly, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening or horticulture preferred.
• Be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Flexible and reliable.

Responsibilities

• General gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Lawn care including mowing, edging, and watering.
• Planting, pruning, weeding, and seasonal bed maintenance.
• Maintaining pathways and outdoor areas to a high standard.
• Supporting the Grounds Team with seasonal projects and landscaping tasks.
