Make a Lasting Impact on Education
Are you a professional with expertise in HR, education governance, local authorities, trusts, academies, or Ofsted? Are you passionate about shaping the future of young learners? If so, Prettygate Infant and Junior Schools invite you to bring your skills to our Federated Governing Body.
Prettygate Infant and Junior Schools are both very popular.
As a School Governor, you will play a vital role in driving strategic leadership, ensuring accountability, and championing the best outcomes for our pupils. We are particularly seeking individuals who can contribute their HR knowledge—helping to guide workforce development, policies, and staff well-being—or those with governance experience in education settings.
What's in it for you?
No prior governance experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and a commitment to improving education.
In terms of time commitment, we expect that governors will attend at least 6 meetings a year, which will take place in the daytime between 4-6pm and rarely last more than 2 hours. Visits to see and monitor the school in action will also be required; this is one of the many highlights of the role as you get to see first-hand the children learning.
Experience tells us that our governors not only make a difference to the school but also gain much personal and professional satisfaction from the role, such as learning new skills, making new friends, and enhancing CVs.
We would welcome applications from any background if you are prepared to take on the commitment of the role. If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact our Headteacher, Mr. Mark Millbourne via the school office: admin@prettygateschool.co.uk or call 01206 577608.
Our school is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All posts are subject to DBS checks and other relevant safeguarding screening. We will close the vacancy once the position has been filled.
