Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable Food Technician to join a welcoming secondary school. You will support practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping with equipment, ingredients and resources to ensure smooth lessons.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in food preparation, good organisational skills and a proactive approach, with a focus on food hygiene and safety in a school setting. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Interest in food preparation, cooking and nutrition.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage varied workload.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive approach.
• Ability to work with teaching staff and support colleagues.
• Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, materials and equipment for Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Assist teaching staff with organisation and delivery of practical cooking sessions.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic food preparation areas.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of ingredients, equipment and classroom resources.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, safe and in good working order.
• Support storage, preparation and disposal of food per hygiene procedures.
• Assist with setting up and clearing away practical classrooms before and after lessons.
• Maintain accurate records of stock, equipment and safety checks.
