Job summary

Ceredigion County Council is seeking a reliable School Caretaker for Aberporth Primary School on the picturesque Ceredigion coast. You will help keep the premises safe, secure and well maintained to support daily school operations and safeguarding requirements.

Flexibility is required with on-site hours during school times and readiness for emergencies. A DBS check will be required, with emphasis on safeguarding and a proactive, friendly approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site security, including locking/unlocking premises, alarm systems, and keyholder duties.
• Carry out daily safety checks and report hazards or concerns.
• Perform minor maintenance and monitor heating and facilities systems.
• Support cleanliness and environmental standards, including waste management and outdoor upkeep.
• Undertake porterage duties such as moving equipment and supporting room setups.
• Complete required logs and follow school procedures.
• Promote and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
