Job summary

King Edward VII School seeks a versatile Facilities Manager to lead site operations across its two campuses, ensuring a safe, welcoming, high-performing environment. You will oversee buildings, cleaning teams, and all maintenance, with readiness to work across the full school estate.

The role requires hands-on expertise, leadership and a strong compliance mindset to support health & safety regulations and regulatory testing. The post is permanent, 37 hours weekly, with 52 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, practical trade or facilities maintenance skills with strong technical know-how.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, risk assessments, and Health & Safety regulations.
• Natural leadership with excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with staff, leaders and students.
• Attention to detail, time management under pressure, flexible to support events and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and inspire site personnel across premises and cleaning services.
• Oversee compliance with Health & Safety regulations and statutory premises testing.
• Oversee site upgrades, reactive maintenance and daily operational needs.
• Deliver excellent service and build relationships with staff, students, contractors and visitors.
