Job summary

King Edward VII School is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to lead site operations across our split lower school estate. You will oversee premises, cleaning teams, and ensure health and safety compliance while supporting site upgrades and daily needs.

The role requires hands-on expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage across both historic and modern buildings, with a flexible approach to events and out-of-hours requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise with practical trade or facilities maintenance and strong technical know-how.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, risk assessments, and Health & Safety regulations.
• Natural leadership with excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication with staff, leaders and students.
• Attention to detail, time management under pressure, and flexible working hours for events and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and inspire line-managed site personnel across premises and cleaning services.
• Oversee compliance with legislation, including Health & Safety and statutory premises testing.
• Apply practical skills to manage site upgrades, reactive maintenance, and daily operations.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with staff, students, contractors and visitors.
