Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Facilities Manager to join the Sheffield Schools team, based in Sheffield. You will support day-to-day operations across school sites, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient service delivery while leading a dedicated team to uphold high facility standards.

The role focuses on managing site operations, mentoring staff, coordinating with school stakeholders and driving continuous improvement in facilities management within the educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, preferably in schools or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of compliance and statutory requirements is beneficial.
• Proactive approach with problem-solving skills and hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day FM operations across school sites to meet contractual requirements.
• Lead and mentor soft services teams, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors.
• Ensure health and safety compliance through audits and risk assessments.
• Act as on-site point of contact and build strong relationships with school staff.
• Oversee maintenance schedules and reactive works to ensure timely resolutions.
