Job summary

Horizon Teachers are working with a welcoming primary school in Redbridge who are looking for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their premises team. The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, start ASAP and support the Site Manager with day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning and room set-ups for events.

An enhanced DBS check is required as part of our registration process and you will be expected to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, premises or facilities experience, ideally within a school environment.
• Good practical maintenance skills with a proactive and hands-on approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and routine checks across the school site.
• Assist with opening, closing and securing the school buildings when required.
• Support with cleaning duties and maintaining internal and external areas.
• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture and setting up rooms for school events and lettings.
• Report maintenance, security and health & safety concerns and maintain relevant site records.
