Job summary

Bishop William Ward Church of England Primary School in Colchester is seeking a part-time Caretaker/Site Manager to maintain the building and grounds to safety standards. The role covers cleaning, upkeep, liaising with staff and contractors, and flexible hours including call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular cleaning duties across the school.
• Maintain building and grounds, ensuring they are clean, safe and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Liaise with staff, governors and outside contractors to coordinate upkeep and maintenance.
• Use initiative and display a positive approach to problem‑solving.
• Maintain flexibility in working hours, including call‑outs, school holidays and additional time‑consuming tasks.
