We’re working with a secondary school in Sheffield that is looking to appoint a Data Officer to support the school’s day-to-day data and administration function.
You’ll work with a range of student information, helping to keep records accurate, supporting assessment and reporting, and providing information to teachers and senior leaders when required. It’s a varied role and would suit someone who enjoys working with systems and pays close attention to detail.
The role will involve a mixture of data and administrative responsibilities, including:
Maintaining accurate student records and information
Updating the school’s Management Information System
Supporting assessment and reporting cycles
Producing spreadsheets, reports and other data for staff
Checking information and resolving discrepancies
Supporting attendance, admissions and examination data
Assisting with curriculum and timetable information
Responding to data requests from teachers and senior leaders
Supporting statutory returns and census information
Keeping confidential student information secure
Helping to improve the way data is recorded and managed across the school
The school is looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working with data.
Strong Excel and general IT skills are important, as is the ability to manage deadlines and work accurately when dealing with large amounts of information.
Previous experience in a school would be useful, particularly if you have worked with SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or a similar MIS, but relevant experience in administration, data or information management will also be considered.
