Job summary

The Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Transport Officer to help ensure the safe passage of school children across roads to and from school, including directing traffic at crossing areas and identifying roadside hazards.

You will comply with the Education Authority's Instructions to School Crossing Patrols, perform health and safety duties, complete paperwork, and work within established guidelines while promoting equality and safeguarding children.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of road safety and traffic awareness
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to use own initiative while following procedures
• Willingness to undertake job related training

Responsibilities

• Control the behaviour of children at crossing areas.
• Comply with the Education Authority's Instructions to School Crossing Patrols.
• Carry out health and safety duties under the NI framework.
• Carry out duties in line with working conditions of the role.
• Complete all necessary paperwork.
• Perform duties within the same grade when appropriate.
