Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a dedicated School Crossing Patrol officer to ensure safe crossing for pedestrians on Pennine Drive near Howletch Primary, Peterlee. This permanent role is part-time with term-time hours: 8:25am–9:05am and 3:00pm–3:40pm, totaling 1h20m per day and about 6h40m weekly, training provided.

Successful candidates receive a uniform, a retainer during school holidays, and may undergo medical assessments as required.

Qualifications

• Punctual, reliable and able to communicate clearly.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Willingness to work term-time hours and meet training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be punctual and reliable in safeguarding pedestrians.
• Help children and adults cross the road at designated points.
• Complete Enhanced DBS check and attend medical assessments as required.
