Are you punctual and reliable? Do you have good communication skills and a strong sense of community spirit? Do you have road sense? If you answered yes to these questions, we would love for you to join our School Crossing Patrol Service!
WHAT IS INVOLVED? We have a vacancy for a permanent part-time School Crossing Patrol officer. Your role will be to ensure the safety of adult and child pedestrians crossing the road at designated crossing points during specified times.
This vacancy is to work on Front Street, Sherburn.
The hours of duty to be worked each week [term-time only] are:
Monday to Friday
Morning: 7.45 - 8.55 am
Afternoon: 2.50 - 3.40 pm
Total: 2hr 00mins daily / 10hrs 00mins weekly.
Upon success you will receive full training, a uniform, and an appropriate retainer payment during school holidays.
You will also be required to attend medical assessments as part of the job role as required.

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service.
Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
For example: Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service: 38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service: 38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
