Job summary

Manchester Academy seeks an experienced and resilient School Counsellor to support students with emotional, social and mental health challenges. You will provide one-to-one and group counselling, working with safeguarding, pastoral and SEND teams to promote wellbeing.

This role is term-time only with holidays off, and Enhanced DBS clearance is required. You will contribute to a diverse, inclusive school community where every student can reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised counselling qualification.
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional/mental health needs.
• Collaborate with safeguarding, pastoral and SEND teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group counselling support.
• Manage complex and high-risk cases effectively.
• Promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school.
• Support vulnerable students to overcome barriers and achieve success.
