Job summary

Manchester Academy is seeking an experienced School Counsellor to support students facing emotional, social and mental health challenges within a diverse school community.

You will provide one-to-one and group counselling, manage high-risk cases, work closely with safeguarding, pastoral and SEND teams, and promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school. This term-time only role requires Enhanced DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised counselling qualification.
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and mental health needs.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group counselling support.
• Manage complex and high-risk cases effectively.
• Work closely with safeguarding, pastoral and SEND teams.
• Promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school.
