Job summary

New Hall School is seeking a qualified Counsellor to join the Health & Wellbeing Team. The role involves delivering confidential, one-to-one counselling and therapeutic support to students, contributing to positive mental health and wellbeing within a Catholic independent boarding and day school.

You will work with students from Reception to Year 13, maintaining confidential records and collaborating with DSLs and pastoral teams to promote welfare and resilience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant counselling qualification.
• Accredited or registered with BACP.
• Experience working with young people.
• Understanding of safeguarding and data protection principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver confidential one-to-one counselling to students from Reception to Year 13.
• Develop and use solution-focused interventions to support resilience.
• Set up a drop-in counselling clinic for self-referrals.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of all sessions.
