Independent SEND School is seeking a compassionate School Counsellor to join the pastoral team. The role includes direct student counselling and supervision of other professionals, with responsibilities spanning program development and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to support students.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.30-4pm, Tuesday 8.30-5pm, Friday (phone number removed)pm

An independant SEND School is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Counsellor to join their dedicated pastoral team. This role not only involves providing direct support to students but also offering supervision to other professionals within the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Student Support: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, addressing academic, emotional, and social challenges.
  • Supervision: Offer professional supervision to fellow staff, fostering their development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive school counselling programs that promote student well-being and align with the school's ethos.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to student crises, collaborating with staff and external agencies as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create supportive networks for students.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality in line with ethical guidelines and school policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy.
  • Accreditation with a professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
  • Experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in providing supervision to other counselling professionals.
