Salway Ash CE VA Primary School is recruiting a School Cook to join our team for a temporary contract from 4 January 2027 to January 2029. The role is 25 hours per week, term-time plus inset days, with a new in-house kitchen and fresh meal preparation.

The successful candidate will enjoy family-friendly hours (9.00am to 2.00pm) and the opportunity to shape our school meal service while supporting pupils’ health and enjoyment of the school day.

Salway Ash CE VA Primary School has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable School Cook to join our team from 4th January 2027 until January 2029. This is a temporary contract working 25 hours per week for 38.6 weeks per year (term time plus three inset days) Grade 7 £27,709 - £30,515 FTE.

For the first time, we are bringing our school meals in-house, giving us the opportunity to cook fresh, nutritious and delicious meals from scratch in our own school kitchen every day.

We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in preparing great food and would love the opportunity to help shape our new school meal service.

We are a thriving and successful over-subscribed primary school situated between Bridport and Beaminster. This is an opportunity to take a key role within the school community and lead a catering service that makes a real difference to pupils every day.
