Job summary

Saltford School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cook to join our catering team. This 30-hour role runs 8.00am–2.00pm, Monday to Friday, supporting the Catering Manager with day-to-day operations and helping provide high-quality food and service for students, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience, ideally in a school or college setting.
• Holds a current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and understands food safety.

• Enthusiastic, reliable and flexible, works well in a team or independently.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards.

Job description

Saltford School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cook to join our catering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in providing a high-quality catering service for students, staff and visitors, while supporting the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the catering operation. You'll be part of a team committed to providing excellent food and service, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and creating a welcoming environment for our school community.

About You

• Has previous catering experience, ideally within a school or college environment.
• Holds a current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and has a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Has a genuine interest in food and providing a high-quality service to students, staff and visitors.
• Is enthusiastic, reliable and flexible, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Can work efficiently under pressure, prioritise their workload and maintain high standards at all times.
