School Cook - Lyndhurst, New Forest - 27.5 hours per week

Job Overview

Academics is seeking an experienced School Cook available from 22nd April to work in a busy school kitchen located in Lyndhurst, New Forest. This position is temporary with the potential to become permanent, working approximately 27.5 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year). Ideally, candidates should reside in the Lyndhurst or New Forest area.

Responsibilities
  1. Providing nutritious and appealing cooked meals for pupils.
  2. Maintaining a clean and functional kitchen environment for daily food preparation.
  3. Implementing school policies on Lunchtime and Behaviour, ensuring the safety, security, welfare, and good conduct of pupils during midday breaks.
  4. Promoting the physical and mental well-being of pupils as directed by teachers.
  5. Organising and managing food deliveries to ensure stock availability for daily menus.
  6. Following provided menus and recipes accurately.
  7. Adhering to food hygiene guidelines and completing all required documentation.
  8. Cooking, preparing, and serving food in line with company standards.
  9. Keeping the kitchen tidy and reporting any health and safety issues promptly.
  10. Providing friendly, efficient, and hygienic service to pupils, exceeding expectations where possible.
  11. Being visible and approachable during service times, maintaining a pupil-focused attitude.
  12. Completing all relevant bookwork accurately and timely, following SFBB guidelines.
  13. Maintaining clean and fully stocked service areas, and co-operating with team members.
  14. Attending relevant training courses on food safety, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  15. Following cleaning schedules rigorously.
