Richmond and Wandsworth Councils operates an outstanding after-school Community Club, delivering a 'Happy, safe, learning' environment for 3–11 year olds.

We seek a dynamic playworker with a passion for helping children succeed. Term-time, 12 hours per week (2.45 pm–5.45 pm, Mon-Thu), supporting our caring, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ Level 2/3 in Child Care or be willing to gain it.
• First Aid and Basic Food Handling qualifications are an advantage.
• Strong communication and collaboration with colleagues, parents and education professionals.

Job description

Working under the direction of the Club Managers and the Headteacher, you will help create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and grow after the school day ends.

Successful applicants must already hold an NVQ 2/3 in Child Care (or equivalent) or be willing to gain this qualification as soon as possible. First Aid and Basic Food Handling qualifications would also be an advantage. In addition to possessing the qualifications and experiences relevant to the post (see person specification attached), the successful candidate will have a passion for enabling children to overcome their barriers and to succeed. The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and education professionals is also a requirement. You must be willing to undertake professional development as required.
