Job summary

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Cleaning Operative for Davidson Mains Primary School to provide cleaning across our estate, ensuring safe and clean spaces for pupils and staff. The post is part-time with early morning hours (Mon–Fri 6:00am–8:00am) and a pro rata salary of £26,205–£26,525, depending on hours worked.

You will join the Facilities Management team, contributing to a reliable service with paid annual leave and a generous pension.

Qualifications

• Cleaning of all surfaces, fixtures, and floors.
• Sanitary areas and washrooms cleaning with replenishment of consumables.
• Emergency cleaning and spill response as required.

Responsibilities

• To empty litter and recycling bins.
• Clean all surfaces, floors, furniture, fixtures in group of buildings.
• Clean sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
• Carry out emergency and reactive cleaning (graffiti, spillages).
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assist other buildings if needed.
• Meet cleaning specification requirements and support performance measures.
