Job summary

FOX MORRIS GROUP LTD is seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors at our Nottingham area school. The role involves cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas, with tasks including sanitising bathrooms, waste disposal and reporting hazards.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a small team. An Enhanced DBS check is required and training on COSHH will be provided.

Qualifications

• Able to work efficiently with attention to detail and take pride in your work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team.
• Physically fit to carry out cleaning tasks including lifting, bending and moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning of classrooms, offices, corridors, halls, washrooms and communal areas including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing.
• Empty, clean and sanitise waste and recycling bins and dispose of waste responsibly.
• Clean and sanitise washrooms, replenish consumables (soap, toilet roll, hand towels) and check for leaks or damage.
• Clean internal glass doors, windows and display boards as required.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following all instructions and training provided.
• Report maintenance issues, damage, safety hazards or security concerns promptly.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and stores are tidy, secure and in good working order.
• Cover additional cleaning duties during events, deep cleans or holidays as required.
• Adhere to school policies, health and safety rules and safeguarding procedures.
