Marchant Recruitment is helping a friendly primary school in Eastbourne, East Sussex, recruit a reliable School Cleaner to join the premises team. The role focuses on cleanliness, hygiene and site presentation to ensure classrooms, washrooms, corridors and communal spaces are clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, organised and able to follow cleaning schedules while working independently and in line with school health and safety procedures.

Competenze

• Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
• Experience in commercial, office or other institutional cleaning may also be considered.
• Good understanding of cleaning methods, hygiene standards and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a consistent standard.
• Strong attention to detail and a reliable approach to work.
• Good time management and the ability to work independently.
• Understanding of safeguarding and appropriate conduct in a school environment.

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, staff rooms and other designated areas.
• Cleaning and sanitising toilets, washrooms and frequently touched surfaces.
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining different floor surfaces.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste in accordance with school procedures.
• Replenishing soap, paper towels, toilet rolls and other hygiene supplies.
• Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
• Following designated cleaning schedules and completing tasks within agreed timeframes.
• Maintaining cleaning cupboards and storage areas in a safe and organised condition.
• Reporting maintenance concerns, spillages, damage or potential hazards.
• Ensuring cleaning equipment is stored securely and handled correctly.
• Following procedures for cleaning areas used by children and school staff.
• Maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to safeguarding policies.
