Job summary

Byron Wood Academy is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our site team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across classrooms, corridors, offices, and shared spaces, with tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, and waste disposal. Working 15 hours per week, Mon-Fri 3:30pm-6:30pm, term-time plus additional weeks.

Join a supportive school community. Experience is desirable but not essential; COSHH awareness and training can be provided.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual with a strong eye for detail.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication with colleagues and pupils as required.
• Awareness of COSHH and safe cleaning practices.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal spaces to a high standard.
• Undertake general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, dusting, emptying bins and replenishing supplies.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored properly.
• Report any cleaning, maintenance or safety issues to the Site Manager.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks within allocated timeframes and follow school policies.
