Job summary

Norton Hill School is seeking a diligent School Cleaner to join the team from September 2026 on a permanent, all year round contract. The role is 15 hours per week, Mon-Fri 3.30pm–6.30pm, with a salary of £12.85 per hour and a pro rata annual range of £10,052–£10,210 for term-time hours.

School holiday hours may be completed when open. The successful candidate will maintain high cleaning standards, use materials and equipment safely, complete required records, and participate in online training

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or similar role preferred.
• Reliable, hardworking and motivated with good time management.
• Ability to follow health, safety and security regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks to required standards as directed by the school.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the premises.
• Complete all records and documentation as required.
• Complete online training as required and keep up to date with safety procedures.
• Adhere to health, safety and security regulations and standards.
• Carry out additional duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

• To ensure that the required standards and quality levels are maintained.
• To use all cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner in accordance with the instructions and procedures determined by the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership.
• To complete all appropriate records and documentation as required.
• To complete online training as required.
• To ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and security regulations.
• To carry out such other duties as are required, and as are commensurate with the grade of the post.
