Job summary

Lavington School in Wiltshire is seeking a reliable School Cleaner to join the site team and maintain a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff. This role is 15 hours per week over 41 weeks, with duties across classrooms, offices, corridors and toilets.

You will operate cleaning equipment in line with health and safety procedures, replenish supplies, monitor stock levels, and report issues to the Cleaning Supervisor, working independently or as part of a team.

The working hours for this role are expected to be 15 hours per week, 41 weeks per year, 15:00 - 18:00, Monday to Friday. The start date for this role is 16 October 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join Lavington School, helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The role involves carrying out a range of cleaning duties, including cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, and toilet facilities, as well as replenishing supplies and ensuring all areas are maintained to a high standard. Working as part of the site and cleaning team, you will safely operate cleaning equipment, use cleaning products in line with health and safety procedures, and support the effective running of the school. You will also be responsible for monitoring cleaning stock levels, maintaining tidy storage areas, and reporting any issues to the Cleaning Supervisor. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of cleaning practices, take pride in their work, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong reliability, organisation, and a flexible approach are essential, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards and supporting colleagues when required. A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, and the wider ethos of the school is fundamental to this role.
