Job summary

North Duffield CP School is seeking a reliable School Cleaner to join our premises team. The role involves routine cleaning of classrooms, corridors and facilities, using appropriate equipment and chemicals, with training provided.

The post is part-time (12.5 hours per week) during term time, with the potential for additional hours as Relief Kitchen Assistant. The contract runs full year with a six-month probation period.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning equipment and chemicals preferred; full training will be provided.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• General dusting of furniture, fixings and fittings.
• Dust control mopping/sweeping of floors.
• Cleaning and polishing floors using an electrical buffing machine.
• Damp/wet mopping of floors.
• Polishing furniture, cleaning internal glass.
• Cleaning sanitary fittings.
• Using cleaning materials as instructed.
• Emptying waste paper bins.
• Wiping surfaces, fixtures, fittings and paintwork.

Location: Broadmanor, North Duffield, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 5RZ

Hours: 12.5 hours per week (term time hours before or after the school day, with flexibility during the school holidays).
Contract: Established Post (full year, subject to 6‑month probation).
Salary: £13.28 per hour.
