Job summary

Nunnery Wood High School is seeking a dedicated cleaner to maintain a clean, welcoming environment across the school. The role involves routine cleaning tasks across classrooms, corridors and facilities to ensure a safe and hygienic setting for students and staff.

Applicants should be prepared to follow health and safety procedures and participate in required training. The position is on-site at the Birmingham location, with duties that may include additional tasks as directed by the site

Qualifications

• Daily cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping and dusting surfaces.
• Follow health and safety procedures and attend required training.
• Report health and safety concerns immediately.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum carpets and change hoover bags as necessary.
• Mop wet areas, shower and toilet floors.
• Sweep and mop non-carpeted areas.
• Dust and polish surfaces such as window sills, tables and mirrors.
• Clean toilets, sinks and shower areas.
• Wipe walls and skirting boards to remove surface marks.
• Remove stains from carpets.
• Take rubbish to central area and dispose of it.
• Report any damage or misuse of equipment.

Purpose of the post:

To be responsible for ensuring theschool is a clean, welcoming environment.

Day to Day Cleaning

The post holder is to undertakecleaning duties on a daily basis, this includes (but is not exclusive):

• Vacuuming carpets, changing hooverbags as necessary;
• Mopping wet areas, shower andtoilet floors;
• Sweeping and mopping as requiredon non-carpeted areas;
• Dusting/wiping/polishing surfacessuch as window sills, tables, chairs, and mirrors;
• Cleaning toilets sinks and showerareas;
• Wiping walls and skirting boardsto remove surface marks;
• Removing stains in carpets;
• Taking rubbish to an agreedcentral area and placing it in the rubbish bins
• Report any damage or misuseofequipment around the school

Note: In practical and some keyareas a specific regime of cleaning will be required.

Health & Safety / Compliance

• Follow relevant Health &Safety procedures;
• Undertake training as required –This may be online training or attending school provided sessions.
• Report any health and safetyconcerns immediately.
