Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced School Chef for day shifts at a school in Peterborough. The role offers daytime hours with an ongoing temporary-to-permanent arrangement and the possibility of a permanent contract from day one, depending on fit.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery or Catering, with high-volume catering experience, strong food hygiene knowledge, and DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery or Catering (essential).
• Experience in high-volume catering.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
• DBS check required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present nutritious meals for pupils and staff.
• Ensure meals meet high standards of quality.
• Assist with menu planning and food preparation.
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Follow HACCP procedures and food safety regulations.
• Manage food stock, portions and minimise waste.
• Cater for dietary requirements and allergies.
• Work as part of the school catering team.
• Ensure the kitchen operates safely and efficiently.
