Job summary

Canford School in Wimborne Minster is seeking a reliable General Assistant to join the catering team. You will help keep catering and service areas clean, safe and well-presented, while supporting smooth delivery of food and beverage services.

Working as part of a friendly team, you will assist with service, cleaning, stock replenishment and basic food prep, with training and flexible coverage across the school site as required.

Qualifications

• Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Has previous experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Has excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Can follow instructions and work effectively under pressure.
• Is a positive team player with a willingness to learn.
• Takes pride in their work and can meet deadlines and targets.
• Is flexible and reliable.
• Holds a full driving licence for full-time positions

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across catering areas
• Assisting with food and beverage service, clearing tables and servery areas
• Washing kitchen utensils and crockery
• Supporting basic food preparation and stock replenishment
• Completing cleaning rotas and checklists
• Reporting any equipment issues or spillages
• following health, safety and hygiene procedures
• Supporting and coaching new team members
• Attending relevant training and working flexibly across the school site when required
