Job summary

Queenswood School is seeking a Catering Assistant to support food preparation, service, and high hygiene standards in our school kitchen. You will assist with breakfast, lunch, and refreshments, ensuring safe handling, allergy awareness, and a positive dining experience for every pupil.

You will work closely with the kitchen and care teams to maintain cleanliness, safety records, and stock control, while upholding the school's policies.

Qualifications

• Basic food preparation skills and safe meal portioning.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety and safe handling practices.
• Ability to complete food safety, temperature and cleaning records accurately.
• Knowledge of allergen management and dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
• Keep food safe and carry out safety checks.
• Maintain clean kitchen and dining areas to hygiene standards.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies.
• Support pupils with allergy and dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with education and care teams to deliver meals.
• Create a positive dining experience for pupils daily.
