The Earls High School, Halesowen, is seeking a Chef Manager / Catering Manager / Cook Manager to lead the school catering operation on a Monday to Friday pattern. You will manage a busy kitchen team and ensure high-quality meals for students and staff.

This role offers a great work-life balance with no weekend/evening shifts, public holidays off and term-time working, paid over 52 weeks. Sodexo benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking on a large scale for 100–1,300 customers.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing a kitchen team.
• Experience using fresh produce and ingredients.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage a busy catering operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the catering team.
• Hands-on with food preparation and cooking.
• Oversee food service and maintain high standards.
• Manage food ordering, stock, replenishment and waste.
• Control food and labour costs.
• Develop menus appealing to students and staff.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and allergen standards.
• Carry out audits and checks to uphold standards.
• Collaborate with the school to deliver outstanding catering.
• Create a positive kitchen environment and lead by example during busy service.
