Job summary

Astrea Academy Sheffield is seeking a Catering Manager to lead our catering operations and deliver nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming environment. You will manage a team of cooks and catering assistants, plan menus with the central catering team, and ensure budgets and HACCP records are kept up to date.

This role offers term-time hours (37 hours/week) and a pro-rata salary of £28,374 to £30,506. The successful candidate will drive food quality, safety, and service across multiple dining

Qualifications

• Experience in professional kitchens and preparing fresh food.
• Proven leadership in catering environments.
• Strong organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and HACCP principles.
• A proactive, flexible approach and commitment to excellence.
• A professional catering qualification and Food Hygiene certification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cooks and catering assistants to deliver high-quality meals.
• Plan menus in collaboration with the central catering team.
• Manage food orders, budgets, and HACCP records.
• Lead and motivate staff, organise rotas, and ensure adequate cover.
• Maintain high hygiene standards and customer satisfaction.
• Support staff development and conduct performance reviews.
