Job summary

Chartwells is recruiting an experienced Catering Manager to oversee all catering and service operations for Chartwells on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week. You will ensure kitchens run smoothly and deliver exceptional food experiences across our sites.

The role emphasizes leadership, financial acumen, safety, and delivering outstanding dining experiences in education settings, with opportunities for progression within Compass Group UK&I.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of catering experience.
• Experience managing teams in a similar role.
• NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Demonstrate brilliant financial acumen.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ambitious and motivated to upskill.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious food to the highest standards.
• Supervising culinary and catering teams to ensure impeccable food and service.
• Overseeing in-unit catering operations, including inventories and budgets.
• Communicating with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
• Representing Chartwells/Compass Group and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales.
• Liaising between customers and teams to exceed expectations.
• Training teams and leading from the front to enable excellence.
