Job summary

Aramark is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join Alsager School in Alsager, Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to become part of a busy school catering team, helping to provide excellent food and customer service to pupils and staff.

The role offers 16 hours per week during term time (38 weeks per year), with free on-site parking, life assurance and a pension, and opportunities for training and apprenticeships.

Qualifications

• Previous catering, hospitality, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation
• Serving food and beverages to pupils, staff, and visitors
• Operating tills and handling customer transactions
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen and dining areas
• Washing up and supporting general kitchen duties
• Replenishing food counters and service areas
• Following food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures at all times
• Supporting the catering team with the smooth day-to-day operation of the service
