Job summary

Coxlease School is seeking a Catering Assistant to join their catering team, supporting basic food preparation, hygiene, and promoting healthy eating to support the wellbeing of children and young people.

Under direction, you will assist with preparation and cooking of meals, ensure kitchen hygiene standards are met, and support the Chef in line with company policies. This role operates term-time with a 9am start, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assists with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.
• Under direction, takes responsibility for parts of the catering operation.
• As part of the catering team, the role holder will be required to ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s AssuredSafe Catering policies and procedures.
