Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to support our school dining service. The role works 15 hours a week over 40 weeks, helping prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals and maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining area.

You will work closely with the Catering Lead, follow food hygiene regulations, support stock checks and costings, and deliver high standards of service to pupils and staff within a welcoming school environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve appetising, nutritious food.
• Set up and prepare the dining room for service.
• Wash up, clear and clean the kitchen, dining room and associated areas.
• Support menu and recipe costing, stock control and accurate record keeping.
• Assist with the careful use and maintenance of catering equipment, reporting faults as necessary.
