Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the delivery of wholesome meals in a welcoming school environment. You will work closely with the Catering Lead to ensure high standards in food preparation, service and kitchen cleanliness.

The role is part-time (15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year) with early-afternoon hours. A collaborative team environment and ongoing training are offered to support personal development and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or school dining preferred.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to work 15 hours per week over 40 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals.
• Set up dining area and service areas before meals.
• Wash up and clean kitchen, dining room and related spaces.
• Assist with stock control and simple costings where required.
• Support use of catering IT systems as needed.
• Attend training and staff meetings.
