Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to support the delivery of wholesome meals for pupils at our Barnsley site. You'll work with the Catering Lead to prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen and dining environment.

This permanent role runs 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, 10:30am0pm. It offers the chance to contribute to the school day and develop catering skills within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve appetising, nutritious food.
• Set up and prepare the dining room for service.
• Wash up, clear and clean kitchen and dining areas.
• Support menu and recipe costing, stock control and record keeping.
• Assist with use and maintenance of catering equipment; report faults.
• Ensure efficient use of gas, electricity and water.
• Operate relevant catering IT systems as required.
• Attend training courses and meetings as required.
• Share catering knowledge and skills with colleagues.
• Follow current legislation and Trust policies.
• Deliver high-quality service to Wellspring community - right first time.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.
