Job summary

Littlegarth School Ltd. is seeking a motivated Catering Assistant to join our friendly catering team on a part-time basis. Hours are 10:00am–3:00pm on Mon-Tue and 9:00am–3:00pm Wed-Fri during term time, with inset days.

The role involves preparing, serving and clearing lunches for children and staff and supporting school functions. The position requires working under health and safety standards, a good team ethos, and a commitment to healthy, freshly prepared meals using locally sourced

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a kitchen and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Understanding of current "Healthy Eating" guidance.
• Ideally experience in a school environment.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up the dining room for school lunch sittings.
• Help in food preparation for daily lunches, match teas, packed lunches and events.
• Serve food to children and staff.
• Clear up and wash up after lunch and functions.
• Clear and wash kitchen and dining areas, including floors.
• Ensure adherence to allergen labelling and dietary guidance.
• Present food attractively and promote healthy eating in the School.
• Assist with after-hours school events as needed.
