Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is recruiting a permanent Catering Assistant for St Joseph's High School. The role is 15 hours per week during term time, performing basic food prep, simple cooking and general kitchen/dining duties, including cleaning and operating the school meals system.

The position requires an Enhanced DBS and supports bilingual English/Welsh work environments. Applications from all backgrounds are welcomed.

Qualifications

• DBS check required (Enhanced DBS).
• Flexible, reliable catering assistant role in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic preparation of food and beverages (vegetables, fruit, salads).
• Perform simple cooking duties (snack items).
• Carry out general kitchen and dining room duties (washing up, moving tables/chairs, clearing dining area).
• Clean kitchen, equipment and surroundings.
• Operate the school meals administration system.
• Adhere to Council’s bilingual and safeguarding commitments.
