Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking reliable School Catering Assistants to join schools across Peterborough during term time. The roles are part-time with hours from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and may vary.

You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and basic cashier duties while maintaining hygiene standards. DBS clearance is required, along with two professional references. Some prior kitchen or catering experience is ideal, and flexible individuals are welcome to apply for

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS required or willingness to apply
• Ability to provide two professional references covering last 24 months
• Some kitchen/catering or cafe experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, setting up, and serving of meals in line with food hygiene regulations
• Clean kitchen equipment and dining furniture as required
• Assist with moving and setting up dining furniture in designated areas
• Undertake shared responsibility for cashier duties and operate a cash register
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, and COSHH regulations
• Support the team in promoting equal opportunities and accessibility
• Undertake duties as deemed appropriate by the School Catering Manager

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist with the preparation, setting up, and serving of meals in line with food hygiene regulations
• Clean kitchen equipment and dining furniture as required in designated areas.
• Assist with the moving and setting up of dining furniture in designated areas.
• Undertake shared responsibility for cashier duties and be responsible for operating a cash register.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times.
• Support the team in promoting equal opportunities in the workplace and delivering services which are accessible and appropriate to the diverse needs of service users.
• Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate by the School Catering Manager in line with the needs of the service.

Requirements

Must have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one. Must be able to provide two professional references which cover the last 24 months of work/study periods. Some previous kitchen, catering, or cafe experience would be ideal.
