Mitie Group plc. is seeking a School Caretaker for Boldon School in Boldon Colliery, Tyne and Wear. This permanent, full-time role offers a 37-hour week with an hourly rate of £13.88 and shifts across early, middle, and late.

The successful candidate will uphold safeguarding standards and manage building needs to support a safe, well-maintained learning environment. Based at Boldon School, you will work as part of Mitie's facilities team to ensure cleaning, maintenance, and security of school

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).
• Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Open, honest, self-driven, and determined.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.
