Job summary

Pertemps West Bromwich is recruiting a School Caretaker in Wednesbury to maintain a safe, clean and secure school environment. Location is Wednesbury with hours Monday–Friday, 10:00am–6:00pm, pay £13.00 per hour. The role is temporary/ongoing and DBS (Enhanced) is required.

The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, practical, and able to work independently. The role involves regular checks, site maintenance, and supporting pupils and staff in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.

• Comfortable carrying out routine checks and general maintenance tasks.
• Friendly and professional when dealing with staff, pupils and visitors.
• Able to follow health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular checks of fire exits and ensuring access routes remain clear.
• Flushing water outlets in line with site procedures.
• Litter picking and maintaining the cleanliness of the school grounds.
• Reading and recording utility meters.
• Locking up the school premises and carrying out general site checks.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, defects or health and safety concerns.
• Helping to ensure the school site is safe, secure and well maintained.
• Assisting with general caretaking duties as required.
