Job summary

Equans Group is recruiting a Caretaker based at The Prescott School, Knowsley. This permanent full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £25,113 per annum plus benefits. Duties include site security, reception, contractor management and basic maintenance, with occasional out-of-hours work.

The role requires COSHH awareness, DBS clearance and good IT and email skills, plus a customer-focused approach to support school operations and community use of the premises.

Qualifications

• COSHH guidelines knowledge and colour coding
• Proficient use of email and basic IT knowledge
• Enhanced DBS certification required; this will be applied for upon commencement

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, secure and efficient operation of the school site
• Open and lock the building, perform security checks and manage visitors and contractors
• Assist with reception, porterage, maintenance, minor repairs and community use of the premises
• Maintain site records, complete meter readings and report incidents
• Manage contractors in line with Equans requirements and support out-of-hours work as needed
