Job summary

Supply Team Education Ltd is recruiting a School Caretaker for a rural Cardiff secondary school. The role is full-time with late afternoon hours (4pm–9pm, Mon–Fri) and weekend work (9am–5pm) negotiable, with a key holder duty to open and close the site each day.

• Supporting the cleaning staff by moving stock, unblocking toilets etc.
• Minor maintenance as required.
• Removing general and recycled waste to main bin area.
• Delivering goods received to staff.
• Litter pick site, empty litter bins and keep drains free of litter and leaves.
• Replenish toilet rolls, soap and blue towels in Staff and Pupil WCs as required.
• Escort contractors across site as necessary.

Job description

Supply Team Education are currently recruiting for a School Caretaker on behalf of our clients, a Secondary School in rural Cardiff.

Recent experience within a school environment is desirable, however applications from candidates that can demonstrate competence in fulfilling the main duties will also be welcomed, especially if they can start immediately, and live local to the school.

The role is full-time, but the confirmed hours are 4pm-9pm Monday to Friday and there is a requirement to work on the weekend between 9am-5pm, which is negotiable. As a key holder, the role includes both opening the school and closing the site at the end of each day. These hours are ‘typical' as shown, but may vary based on the schools' requirements.

The main duties will be:

• Securing the school buildings and setting the intruder alarms.
• Supporting the cleaning staff by moving stock, unblocking toilets etc.
• Minor maintenance as required.
• Removing general and recycled waste to main bin area.
• Delivering goods received to staff.
• Litter pick site, empty litter bins and keep drains free of litter and leaves.
• Replenish toilet rolls, soap and blue towels in Staff and Pupil WCs as required.
• Escort contractors across site as necessary.

The candidate should wear dark coloured casual clothing, have wet weather gear, and must wear their own safety footwear. Any other PPE required will be provided.
