Job summary

Shaftesbury Education is seeking an Estates Operative to join a skilled maintenance team serving Shaftesbury Victoria School and the associated campuses. You will undertake general repairs, minor electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for students.

You will manage reactive, proactive and planned maintenance, record checks for Legionella, fire safety and alarms, and take action to rectify any compliance issues.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and empathetic with a genuine passion for student welfare.
• Calm and adaptable approach, able to follow instructions and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working within the maintenance department of either an educational setting or large buildings.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team of staff and volunteers.
• A desire to deliver high-quality workmanship at all times.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include working within the remits of reactive, proactive and planned maintenance programs.
• Recording compliance and keeping accurate records of the checks for Legionella, fire safety and routine alarms.
• Being able to take the necessary action to rectify any compliance failures if they arise.
• The role also involves ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, managing inspections and audits.
