Job summary

Education Authority requires a hands-on Catering Assistant to support the daily operation of the Catering Unit in a school setting. You will work under supervision to prepare food, serve meals, maintain hygiene, and promote healthy dining practices for pupils and staff.

You will coordinate with the central kitchen and dining room staff to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with relevant regulations while upholding the school values and ethos.

Qualifications

• Basic preparation of food and beverages using appropriate equipment.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas.
• Record temperatures for control purposes when required.

Responsibilities

• Organise and control food service points.
• Transfer and serve meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Promote meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintain contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Complete duties including washing up and clearing equipment.
• Clean kitchen/servery and dining area.
• Complete all necessary administration.
• Adhere to Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
• Promote and adhere to the school values/ethos.
