Job summary

The Carlton Academy, part of Redhill Academy Trust, is hiring a Catering Assistant. The role is 32.5 hours per week, part-time and term-time only, with duties including till operation, counter service, food prep and maintaining a clean service area.

Salary is shown as £18,722.26 per annum (FTE £25,218.62). The post emphasises health and safety, nutrition and reliable team contributions within a busy school environment.

• Take delivery of food stock and check standards.
• Maintain knowledge of health, safety and nutritional standards.

Your role

As a Catering Assistant, You’ll

• Operate a till in line with NRS cashless catering system.
• To assist with the counter service of food.
• To help with the preparation of hot and cold food.
• To keep all food preparation and service areas clean and tidy.
• To wash and dry equipment.
• To ensure the dining room is clean and tidy at the end of each session, including wiping of tables.
• Take delivery of food stock and ensure they are to the required standards.
• To have a full understanding of the required level of health and safety, food hygiene and nutritional standards.
• To have good product knowledge.
